Wedding Venue: Old Mill
Top six reasons why our couple Gwen & Chun Fai Chose Old Mill
Romantic Factor: Very High
Gwen always loved all things romantic every since she was a little girl. Old Mill is a gorgeous historical building in Toronto nestled on the banks of Humber River. This wedding venue is not only one with the most romantic wedding ambiance in Toronto, but it is also located in one of the most scenic and exclusive neighbourhoods in the city. At night the area turns magical when the whole building is bathed in lights with the stars reflecting off the river and nearby lights flickering on the surrounding hills. This venue perfectly matched Gwen’s idea of classic and romantic place, just perfect for her wedding.
Affordability Factor: Very High
Our couple is very financially savvy and they wanted a wedding venue which would offer them great value at a reasonable price. Banquet rooms at Old Mill range in price from $200-$500. Outdoor wedding in the garden is approximately $1,000. When average banquet rooms in Toronto area cost anywhere from $1,500-$10,000 to rent for a wedding day, Old Mill prices are impossible to match.
Banquet rooms can accomodate a party of any size
Old Mill houses fifteen wedding banquet rooms which can accommodate a wedding party ranging from fifteen people to eight hundred. Outside garden wedding can accommodate 80 guests. Four of the wedding banquet rooms lead into private patios or gardens; they are: Kingsbrook and Drawing which comfortably seat 50 wedding guest, Garden with 80 dinner seats and Guildhall which seats 200 dinner guests. Gwen and Chun Fai chose York Room for their ceremony and Balmoral Room for their reception.
Perfect All Season Wedding Venue
Gwen and Chun Fai got married in the spring, in late April. Spring is a funny season because it is neither very cold like in the winter nor very warm like it is during the summer season. They wanted their guests to be able to enjoy the outdoor garden as well as be able to go indoors if they felt chilly. Therefore they chose Old Mill venue as this venue offers a perfect combination of both outdoor as well as indoor rooms where guests can enjoy themselves. In the summertime, prospective bride can choose to have a magical romantic garden wedding here at Old Mill. During the winter months inside of the Old Mill a bride can feel just as romantic and magical because of all the stained window glass and snow shimmering off the neighbouring hills.
Reception & Ceremony can be hosting in one location
Gwen and Chun Fai wanted to have a peaceful wedding day with all the wedding celebrations unfolding in one location. Wedding day is already action packed often starting at 6:00 AM in the morning and rarely finishing until the last guest leaves the wedding party.
Therefore the brides can eliminate a lot of stress by choosing one wedding location where both the ceremony as well as reception can take place. Old Mill has a beautiful cosy chapel with glass stained windows which can house up to 100 guests. This provides great convenience to both the bridal party as well as the guests who don’t need to travel great distance from one wedding location to the next on the wedding day.
Public accessibility factor: High
Most guests at Gwen and Chun-Fai’s wedding drove to Old Mill but some used accessible public transit as well. Old Mill is centrally located and can be easily access both by the public transit as well as a car. Venue features ample parking space which is located directly across from the building. Guests also might find it easier simply to take the subway and walk less than two minutes to the entrance of Old Mill.
In conclusion Gwen and Chun-Fai could not have been happier with choosing Old Mill as their wedding venue. We at Leonardo Films wholeheartedly recommend it as well!
