  1. Why should you hire Leonardo Films for both your wedding photography and your wedding videography needs?

    • Savings. We will offer you additional 15% off if you choose our Leonardo Films package for both your wedding photography and wedding videography.
    • Ease. Communicationn will be a lot easier as you will be communicating with Lea, Leonardo Films studio owner, for both your videography and photography needs.
    • Peacefullness. You will have a piece of mind that photographers and videographers will work well together on the day of your wedding.
    • Efficiency. You will save a lot of time, as you only need to do all your planning with one studio for both photography and videography.
    • Simplicity.Delivery of the final wedding videos and wedding photos will take place at the same time.
  2. Why should I hire a wedding videographer?

    • Not hiring a wedding videographer is a bride's biggest regret.
    • The only way to really eternalize your wedding.
    • To share your wedding with relatives who may not be able to attend.
    • To watch yourself walk down the isle.
    • To watch SDE (same day edit) video of your morning preparations and wedding ceremony during the evening reception.
    • To relive wedding moments over and over again.
    • You can build family ties (to have lifetime memories of all your family members).
    • To have footage and ability to create family movies later on.
    • You can be a movie star for the night.
    • You can watch bloopers.

Before making any decisions that you might later regret, consider the following: Would you like to see yourself walk down the isle? Would you like to re-live the magical moment of your first dance, your father-daughter or mother-son dance? What about the bloopers? What about all the joyful, spontaneous and once-in-a-lifetime moments with your family members and those most important to you? Would you like to be able to see them again and relive the memories of your special day over and over again? Your photographer will surely do a great job of capturing your wedding day, so you might come to the conclusion that videographer is not necessary.

There will be older relatives at your wedding, and unfortunately they will not always be present in your life. This can be a perfect opportunity to capture everyone together having a great time and lots of fun during a very special and emotional time. In short, you will spend many months carefully planning all the details of your wedding day, from the colour and the theme down to the smallest detail of your flower arrangements. Photography is great for capturing special moments in time, but videography is the only way to truly eternalize all the details, to capture the movement, the moments and the emotions of your wedding day.

  3. How many hours of filming and photography do I need?

It’s totally up to you! However many hours you choose to hire us for during your wedding day depends on your wedding budget as well as your vision for the wedding video. Would you like us to capture just your ceremony? Do you wish for us to be there for every single important detail on your special day?

    Six hours

In six hours we can capture your wedding ceremony, family photographs, reception, individual dances, and speeches. For example if your ceremony starts at 1:00 PM, and you purchase a 6 hour Mona Lisa wedding package, we will be there until 7:00 PM. This amount of time is enough for some couples.

    Eight hours

In eight hours we can capture the bride and groom getting ready, the wedding ceremony, family photographs, reception, family & friends interviews, individual dances, and dinner speeches. For example if we start filming you at noon while you are getting ready, we will be there until 8:00 PM. This amount of times is enough for most of our clients. Our 8-hour Leonardo Films package, which comes with two videographers is our most popular package.

    Twelve hours

In twelve hours we can capture all wedding day festivities, from the time that the bride and groom are getting ready, to the cake cutting. Therefore, if we start filming the ‘getting ready’ portion at noon, we will be there until midnight and will capture the bride and groom getting ready, the wedding ceremony, family photographs, reception, family & friends interviews, individual dances and dinner speeches, cake cutting and any celebration that will be taking place.

    Twelve hours plus

We are available for 12+hour engagements. If you have a cultural wedding with festivities spanning over many days, we offer special discount for each additional hour of filming that you hire us for. We will do our best to meet both your wishes and your wedding budget.

  4. Should I have one or two photographers or videographers?

If your budget allows for just one videographer, we suggest it is better to have a video than not at all. Your wedding only happens once, and having the option to view it on a video will enable you and your family to re-live the happy moments many times over. However, it is important to realize that having only one camera at the wedding will give you only one angle. Therefore, if the camera is filming your wedding wows, and focusing on the bride, then the reactions of the audience as well as anything unfolding at the same time cannot be captured. Those important moments will inevitably be missed, if the wedding is shot with only one camera. Therefore, we always suggest having two videographers at the wedding. That way they will be able to capture everything important which happens during the ceremony and your wedding day.

  5. Do you photograph and film weddings from different cultures?

Absolutely! We have filmed Italian, Polish, Serbian, Spanish, Mexican, Jewish, Chinese, Filipino, Jamaican, Persian, Muslim and Indian weddings. Prior to shooting any wedding, we consult with the bride and groom, as well as do our background research so we are very familiar with the wedding customs of each culture. For example in the Persian culture there is a sword dance, and in the Filipino culture there is a money dance. Jewish wedding ceremonies are performed under a tent-like structure called Chuppah, while during a Persian Wedding ceremony a shawl or a scarf made of a fine fabric is held over the bride and groom’s head. Wedding spread in Persian ceremony is called Sofreh Aghd. Chinese tea wedding ceremony is one of the significant events during the wedding day, as during this time, the bride is formally introduced to the groom’s family.

  6. What is your most popular photography and/or videography package?

Leonardo Films is our most popular package for both photography and videography because it captures major parts of the wedding: From the bride getting ready early in the day, until the cake cutting. In addition, this package includes two videographers, and this ensures that every important detail at the wedding will be captured. For example during the wedding ceremony one camera will be filming the bride, while the other will be capturing the groom, wide angle of the whole room and the emotional reactions of the guests, as well as the officiant. Bellow, you will find the details of the Leonardo Films wedding package:

  7. Do you work well with independent photographers?

Absolutely! Oftentimes we will speak to the photographers prior to the wedding, or approach them at the beginning of the day before we start filming. We discuss which shots they need to take, where they will be positioned and what kind of lighting they plan on using. Once we have this information, we simply adapt. We work in tandem with them so they can focus on taking great shots of your wedding, and we can focus on capturing the emotions and magic of your wedding moments. Here is a funny YouTube video called Photographers vs. Videographers Epic Battle. Enjoy!

In 2017 we were awarded Couples’ Choice Awards from Wedding Wire. WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards® recipients represent the top five percent of wedding professionals within the WeddingWire Network who demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness and professionalism.

Booking us for your wedding day is very simple. All you need to do is sign our service contract and make a 50% deposit payment. The remainder of the amount is due 4 weeks prior to the wedding date.

  10. What form of payment do you accept?

As stated in our service contract, your wedding photos or the wedding videos will be ready approximately within 4-6 weeks of your wedding day. 12. In what format will I receive our wedding photos and wedding video?

For wedding photographs, we will save them on a USB key in PDF format and will feature them on an on-line gallery for 3 months after your wedding day. You may share the link to the wedding videos and wedding photo gallery with you family and friends. We can also enable settings for easy download directly from the wedding photo gallery.

  13. Do you require vendor meals on the wedding day?

During your wedding day, we will be filming for 6, 8, 12 or more hours without any stopping. Therefore we will be very grateful if you could provide us with a scrumptious meal so that we can have enough energy to keep working. When planning our seating arrangement at your wedding, please place us close to where the bride and the groom as well as where the speeches will take place, as we need to be close by to capture it all.

  14. Do you offer SDE (Same Day Edit) and what is it?

    Yes!

Same Day Edit, otherwise known as a SDE, is a 2-3 minute edited video of your wedding day which is usually shown to your guests during the dinner. The video is called Same Day Edit, as it is literally created and shown on the same day as the wedding and it usually showcases morning preparations and events leading up to the ceremony, such as picture taking in the park and the exchange of the vows during the ceremony. Same Day Edits are very popular as they are highly entertaining. Furthermore, this video also allows a sneak peak for the guests who were unable to attend the ceremony or for the bridal party to see what the groomsmen were up to in the morning and vice versa. If the budget allows for a Same Day Edit video as well, we strongly recommend that you select it, for the enjoyment of your friends as well as for yourself.

SDE video is 2-3 minutes long and costs $500 pls HST.

  15. Are hours of filming and shooting consecutive?

Yes, hours of filming and shooting are consecutive. Therefore if you hire us for 8 hours and we start filming at 1:00 PM we will be with you until 9:00 PM. If you are driving for 45 minutes or longer in a limo from one destination to another, we will have a videographer with you the whole time to capture any spontaneous moments as they unfold. No hour that you hire us for, will go by unused fully. During the time you hire us for, we will barely sit down, as there are always numerous activities happening and we always are ready and fully attentive, so we can capture all of your magic moments as they happen!

  16. Can we add extra hours to a package? What is the cost of adding an additional hour of photography or videograhy?

You are welcome to customize each package by extending hours of filming or photography. Each additional hour of photography or videography is $150 per hour. Therefore if you would like to purchase a Mona Lisa package and add two hours of videography to it, you would pay an additional 2 hours × $150/hour = $300. On the day of the wedding you are welcome to extend your package by an additional hour. The cost of extending is $150/hour for each Leonardo Films photographer or videographer.

  17. Will Leonardo Films’ team provide us with our raw footage?

We are happy to provide you with your raw footage. As we film in high definition, the files require large amount of memory. Therefore we will need you to provide us with an empty 1TB external hard drive on your wedding day.

  18. Do you cover weddings outside of the GTA and what is the travel fee?

Yes we do. For any wedding further than 40 km from central Toronto, our travel fee from our starting point is $60/photographer or videographer for each hour of travel and 20 cents/kilometer for gas.

  19. Do prices include HST?

No. Prices for each package do not include HST.

  20. How can I save money on wedding packages?

By decreasing your 45-minute final edited video to 20 minute long full length video, you can save $100.

In addition, with our studio you can extend the photography or filming hours on the day of the wedding in case you need us, and you never have to over pay in advance.

If you select Leonardo Films for both your wedding photography and wedding videography, we will give you a 15% discount on the total cost of combined packages.

  21. How many years of photography and filming experience do you have?

For photography we use Nikon and Canon full frame cameras. For videography we use Panasonic DMC-GH4 4K cameras. (This is the newest generation of video cameras.) We also use drones, cranes, sliders etc. For ambient sound we use Zoom audio equipment and Lavalier microphones. We do not use wireless microphones as they don’t have the best spectral efficiency.

  23. What is the cancellation policy?

Yes we do create photomontages of up to 200 photos and they cost $250.

  25. How long do you store clients’ raw footage and edited videos?

If you would like us to store your raw footage and edited videos for the next 10 years we can do so on a dedicated external hard drive at a cost of $400. All edited videos are stored free of charge for 1 calendar year.

  26. Will the Leonardo Films staff visit the venue before the event day?

When there are special requirements (SDE set-up), or special sound and lighting restrictions, the Leonardo Team will phone the responsible individual at the venue to make all the arrangements prior to the event. Visiting the actual event is not necessary, as all the logistical issues can be taken care of over the phone.

  27. How many weddings have you filmed so far?

We are a boutique studio and therefore we limit the number of weddings and other engagements to no more than 40 each year. Our Leonardo Films team has photographed, filmed and edited over 150 weddings.

  28. Are clients able to connect with your photographer and videographer prior to the wedding day?

The Client will receive the videographer and photographer’s contact e-mails two days prior to the wedding day. We ask our clients to direct any questions directly to the Leonardo Films management, as the staff is paid only for the shooting and filming on the day of the event.

  29. If I hire 1 videographer or 1 photographer will they come with an assistant?

Each photographer and a videographer are highly experienced professionals who are greatly skilled at working independently. If you would like to hire a second videographer or a photographer you are welcome to do that for a price of $150/hour. Otherwise there will be no additional Leonardo Films assistants attending your event.

  30. Does Leonardo Films offer engagement shoots?

  32. Do you use areal drones?

    Yes.

The Areal drone is a remote controlled video camera that is positioned on a helicopter like device. Due to its ability to take video from high above, amazing bird-eye views and unbeatable angles can be achieved. For example, during your ceremony our areal drone can be used to capture a sweeping panoramic view of you walking down your isle with all of your guests in attendance. This would be a fantastic way to capture the magic and powerful emotions of that moment. An Areal Drone is ideal for anyone getting married in a picturesque location, or for the couple that would like to add an element of dynamic, grandeur and uniqueness to their wedding video. The picture and film quality of this camera is high definition, and stills can be taken from the footage to create high quality photograph prints as well. Anyone considering having areal drone shots of their wedding day should research if the venue they are getting married at allows drone flying, as most parts of the urban centres are designated as no fly zones.

In order to have areal filming, dedicated videographer will use specialized software, a laptop, I-pad and high definition drone. The cost for the day is $600.

  33. Can we use a 12 hour long package over two days of wedding festivities?

Yes you can divide 12 hour long package over two days, as long as you use at least 4 hours each day. For example, if you purchase Leonardo Films wedding photography package which includes 12 hours of photography by principal photographer, you can have the photographer photograph 4 hours of practice dinner or wedding festivities on Friday evening and then the photographer would cover 8 hours of your wedding day the next day or that Saturday.
